NPC Approves the Kabul City Planning & Design Contract

KABUL: The 81st weekly meeting of NPC was held at the presidential palace on Saturday evening, dated 07/01/2017, presided by His Excellency Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
In this weekly meeting NPC approved four (4) contracts with the total value of approximately four hundred sixty (460) million Afs. The following were among the contracts approved in the meeting: 
The Contract of the Construction of the Roads of Kabul Municipality 12th Precinct with the widths of 30 and 40 meters;
No-cost Extension of the Contracts of the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) for (BPHS) and (EPHS) Health Service Delivery in Kunar Province, and 
The Contract of Hiring a Consulting Company for the Preparation and Designing of Kabul City Plan, proposed by the Ministry of Urban Development (MOUD).
On approving the contract of the roads of Kabul Municipality 12th precinct, NPC advised that the key employees of the winning company should perform their assignments in accordance with the standards and the terms and conditions specified in the bidding documents. Likewise, when approving the contracts of (MOPH) for the delivery of health services in Kunar Province, NPC insisted that the ministry should closely monitor the implementation of the contracts.
In addition, NPC approved the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) proposal for repairing the Afghanistan’s Embassy in London. His Excellency, the president of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, assigned (MOFA) to prepare the draft plan for the repair or building of the embassies of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in friendly Nations and submit it to the H.E President’s Office for review and approval. 
From the other hand, NPC returned 3 proposals of the Ministry of Energy and Water (MOEW) regarding the feasibility studies of the dams/reservoirs of Ghodar in Dikondi Province, Ghazak in Bamyan Province, Dahani-ghorband in Parwan Province, Paltoyee in Paktika Province, Dowamanda in Khost Province, Alinighar in Laghman Province, Tirpul in Herat Province, Zarmardan in Farah Province, and Dahana-e-boom in Ghor Province in order to be further reviewed. The contract of the construction of the 5-story building of the Ministry of Interior Affairs (MOIA) was also returned by the commission. 
In addition to NPC members, His Excellency, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah; Chief Executive of the National Unity Government, the Ministers of Finance, Economy and Justice, Senior Advisor of the President in Infra-structure Affairs, the officials of the National Procurement Authority (NPA), the Transparency Oversights of SIGAR, the members of the Financial and Budgetary Commissions of the Upper House (Meshrano-Jirga), the members of the National Economic Commission of the Lower House (Wolosi-Jirga), the Parliamentary Anti-Corruption Caucus (PACC) and the oversight members of CSTC-A of the Resolute Support had also participated in the meeting.
